Volunteer for Snapshot Day
This is an annual one-day event in May. Spanning more than 300 miles of coast from Pacifica in the north to Morro Bay in the south, Snapshot Day volunteers monitor water quality and collect samples to assess the health of as many streams as possible. Snapshot Day is a great excuse to explore our local streams while collecting important water quality information.

Urban Watch
The Urban Watch Program provides volunteers an opportunity to learn about everyday impacts on water quality and help find local sources of run-off entering our creeks, streams and the ocean. Over the life of this program volunteers have found chlorine leaks, cooking oil spills and major detergent contributions discharging into streams and the Monterey Bay.

First Flush
First Flush is an annual volunteer monitoring event that samples storm drain runoff during the first significant rainfall of the wet season. During the first rain water washes significant amounts of pollution off street surfaces, driveways, and curbs and into storm drains. This concentrated mix of often polluted water flows directly from these storm drains into creeks, rivers and the Monterey Bay.

Internships
CWC is always looking for interns. We can arrange for you to get school credit for your work with us. Our interns get up close and personal with the watersheds of Santa Cruz County. They split their time between working in our office and working out in the field with CWC staff. Please e-mail your resume, a 1-2 page writing sample, and why you are interested in a CWC internship to gpepping@coastalws.org
